Evelyn Rose “Boots” D’Egidio, 75

CANAL FULTON – There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Church inYoungstown for Evelyn Rose “Boots” D’Egidio, 75, who passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 9.

Evelyn was born Feb. 9, 1933 in Youngstown, the daughter of Gabriel and Marie (Barber) Valentino. She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. Evelyn was employed by St. Elizabeth Medical Center as a nurse for 44 years. She was a member of the church, and the Retired Catholic Nurses Association. Her husband, John D’Egidio Sr., whom she married April 25, 1965, passed away Nov. 4, 1999. Evelyn will always be remembered by her sons, John A. Jr. (Cindy) of Canton, Joseph (Janice) of North Olmsted and Michael (Teri) of Vermilion; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Christa, John III, Anthony, Brandon and Sarah; and a sister, JoAnn Doran of Austintown. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses, 464 Catherine St., Youngstown, OH 44505 or to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
